Last Monday, one of the largest live tournaments to ever be held on British soil took place at Nottingham’s Dusk Till Dawn Club. That was the site of this year’s £1 million guaranteed UK & Ireland Poker Tour event which was won by 60-year-old former landlord Robert Baguley, from Leicestershire. He went home with a nice first prize of £210,400.

A new UKIPT record was set after the event reached a total of 1,625 players and generated a prize pool worth £1,137,500. That was far more then originally expected and was the largest field for any live PokerStars tournament ever. The previous best was 1,560 players at the 2011 PCA.

Here are the official results from the final table:

  1. Robert Baguley, United Kingdom, £210,400
  2. Iqbal Ahmed, United Kingdom, £125,000
  3. Grant Pirie, United Kingdom, £96,700
