Negreanu And ‘rUaBot’ To Face Off In Limit Hold’em Challenge

Daniel Negreanu has been on the top of his game lately in the world of No-Limit Hold’em and recently had two big paydays totalling over $1 million. Not only did he nab a 2nd place finish at the €25k EPT High Roller Event for €598,600, but he also had a 6th place finish at the €98.5k 8-Max Super High Roller for €310,000 during the same series.

Now, Negreanu wants to tackle the realm of Limit Hold’em to show he’s talented in multiple disciplines. PokerStar’s has recently set up a special new series to showcase the Fixed Limit skills and the first event will showcase Negreanu and the mysterious ‘rUaBot’. Little is known about the limit specialist and he had kept his identity hidden for now. The professional-gone-incognito did make a few comments about the upcoming match-up:

“In my opinion, fixed limit is more strategic than no limit. In no-limit, you always have some guessing games like ‘would he bluff here or wouldn’t he?.’ Of course, such situations often happen in fixed-limit, too, but there is much more space for general strategic adaptions than in no-limit. I think, setting up your standard game is pure math, but exploiting your opponents patterns is an art…and will always be!”

The action will start on Saturday, May 5th starting at 2pm EST. Both combatants will play 1,250 hands of $200/$400 heads-up Limit Hold’em. They will both start with a $75,000 bankroll and will feature play across two tables. Anyone can rail the action and you can find the games in the PokerStars client under ‘Hold’em’ & ‘Fixed Limit’.
